“I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you…”
(Gen 12:3 CJB)

The verse above is a promise that YHVH Elohim Adonai, the God of Israel gave to Abraham and his children. God promised to protect the nations coming out of Isaac and Jacob in such a way that any resistance or enmity against Israel will be as if a person bangs their head against a strong wall. We all know how that would end. The skull is the first to be crushed.

Like it or not, this kind of promise has been spoken by God Himself and recorded in an old book for thousands of years so that nations from all generations are familiar with it. This causes the God of Israel to continue to defend and protect Israel and even go into battles and wars for them. It is not just for the sake of this nation but most of all for His own Name and reputation.

The spiritual law of the promise about Israel should make Christians in Indonesia tremble and pray more. The number of Christians that pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray to bless Israel does not even account for 20% of the total population. More than 80% are Muslims and are much more prone to curse God’s chosen people.

If a nation can not divert their own destiny and crash directly into the walls of protection by YHVH Elohim, it will only end up in destruction. The only way to get out of the collision course with the God of Israel is by blessing His people, and befriending them, first of all by the government and later by the whole population of the nation.

While the Christians close the year 2011 with Christmas and New Years eve celebration, over 70 people of the remnants of Israel in Indonesia who are members of the United Indonesian Jewish Community gathered to celebrate Chanukkah, the cleansing and re-dedication of the Temple of YHVH over 2000 years ago.

The good news in this is that Ibu Lili Wahid, the sister of the late President of Indonesia, Gus Dur, was present in this celebration. Her presence not only declared her support for the remnants of the Jewish families in Indonesia, but also declares friendship with the “Christians” of this nation as most of the Jewish remnants are believers in Yahshua (Jesus), the Messiah. On top of it, her presence also is implying her blessing over Israel.

This is the birth of a new hope that one day Indonesia may establish their diplomatic relation with Israel which would mean a new friendship (and not enmity) with the people that the Living God of Abraham is protecting.

When this happens, it is only a stepping stone that God uses to fulfill prophecies over Indonesia that this nation will be blessed to be a blessing for other nations. By blessing Israel, the government is saving Indonesia.

The following are pictures of Ibu Lili Wahid in the Chanukkah celebration of 2011.
